Demoltion Has Begun at Former Brookside Youth Centre

Buildings have started to be torn down at the former Brookside Youth Centre located at 390 King Street East in Cobourg.

In September, the Town of Cobourg issued a noticed that a number of buildings would be demolished at the property.

Aerial photos show the demolition has begun on the property.

The demolition permit for 390 King Street East, in accordance with the Ontario Building Code, covers the removal of all existing structures on the site except for the following buildings, which are currently under consideration for heritage designation under Section 29 of the Ontario Heritage Act:

• Strathmore Hall

• Cottesmore Hall Stables

• Winch Cottage
