Learn, Connect and Get Inspired: Registration opens for 3rd Annual BECN She Owns It Women’s Entrepreneurship Conference

In Upcoming Events

The She Owns It Women’s Entrepreneurship Conference — an event hosted by the Business and Entrepreneurship Centre Northumberland (BECN) — returns for a third year.

Designed to empower, inspire, and connect, this conference has welcomed more than 150 attendees each year since its launch, drawing entrepreneurs not only from Northumberland County but also from Toronto, Kawartha Lakes, Picton, and beyond. This growing reach underscores the scale and excitement of the event, which has quickly become a must-attend gathering for women in business across the region.

This year’s conference, taking place on Thursday, November 6th at the Best Western Plus Cobourg Inn & Convention Centre, is expanding to a full day schedule, packed with an exciting lineup of speakers.

Keynote speaker Leisse Wilcox will kick off the day with an inspiring session about how to own the room and leverage your leadership voice, impact and presence. Backed by neuroscience and delivered with equal parts humour, hard truths, and practical strategies, Leisse will share insights from over 20 years of experience helping leaders cut through mental clutter and lead with courage.

Following the keynote presentation, local women in business will share their stories, strategies and lessons learned during a candid panel discussion, including insights from:

· Tash Cook, a Cobourg-based influencer and content creator

· Dawn Fryer, chef and owner of D’s Modern Caribbean in Campbellford

· Sandra Dee Hicks, founder of Sandra Dee’s Consulting for Seniors and Family

· Tiffany Jarvis, founder of The GoldenLine Spiritual Studio

“We are also pleased to welcome back Mel Hannah from Peterborough’s KX 105 as our emcee once again this year,” states BECN Business Development Coordinator Kailyn Coupland. “This year, we’ve curated the She Owns It conference to be even more inspiring, interactive and impactful than ever! We are introducing additional sessions throughout the day, including two hands-on workshops and an interactive ‘Solve Sprint’ session designed to spark collaboration, tackle business challenges and create meaningful connections with other business owners. We can’t wait to show everyone what we have in store! We look forward to celebrating women leaders, creators and entrepreneurs at our third annual She Owns It conference.”

The interactive workshops planned for the afternoon include:

· The Human-First AI Sales Playbook: 5 Steps to Win More Customers in Just 15 Minutes with Claire Bouvier

· Key Ingredients to Transform Your Business, Income & Impact with Uchechi Ezurike-Bosse
Presented in partnership with TD Bank Cobourg and TD Insurance, the She Owns It conference is made possible thanks to their generous support. Attendees will leave with practical tools, expanded networks, and renewed motivation to pursue their entrepreneurial goals.
