Notice of Demolition Permit for 390 King Street East (former Brookside Property)

Permit excludes buildings under consideration of the Ontario Heritage Act

The Town of Cobourg Development Division would like to advise neighbours of 390 King Street East (the former Brookside property) of upcoming demolition work taking place on site.

The demolition permit for 390 King Street East, in accordance with the Ontario Building Code, covers the removal of all existing structures on the site except for the following buildings, which are currently under consideration for heritage designation under Section 29 of the Ontario Heritage Act:

• Strathmore Hall

• Cottesmore Hall Stables

• Winch Cottage

Town Staff are actively monitoring the site, and all demolition work is expected to proceed in full compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The Town of Cobourg thanks the community in advance for their understanding and cooperation as the process moves forward.
