Video – Not A Quiet Time for Anglers (and Residents) In Peace Park

In Local, Police Blotter

It likely wasn’t your usual evening fishing near the mouth of Cobourg Creek on Friday, September 12, 2025.

Around 9 p.m. there was a disturbance on the east and west side of Cobourg Creek between anglers with a number of people yelling back and forth across the creek.

Numerous people fishing called Cobourg Police who attended along with a Municipal By-Law Officer.

Police and by-law spoke to people just north of the mouth of the creek to try and determine what happened.

One person with the group stated they caught 40-salmon during their time on the creek.

Police stayed on site until the parties left the area.

For anglers choosing to fish by Peace Park, the by-law states that the park closes at 11 p.m., therefore there is no fishing after 11 p.m. in Cobourg Parks.
