City of Belleville – Total Burn Ban in Effect

In Local

Belleville Fire and Emergency Services have issued a total burn ban effective immediately, in accordance with the Open-Air Burning By-law.

A partial burn ban was issued last Wednesday and with the continued lack of rain and increase in temperature, the ban has been upgraded to a total burn ban.

A total burn ban is a period of time during which the Fire Chief declares a ban on all open-air burning, including campfires, outdoor fireplaces/burning appliances, brush fires, agriculture fires and cooking fires. Cooking devices, such as barbecues, are still permitted but should be used with extreme precaution and away from any combustible materials.

The total burn ban will remain in effect until further notice.
