Update – Northumberland OPP – Numerous Calls About Furniture on Highway 401 Off-Ramp

OPP received multiple reports from motorists of cardboard boxes and a piece of furniture on the road on Highway 401 eastbound before Baltimore Road on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at approximately 10:20 p.m.

Officers responded promptly and were able to divert traffic while the debris was cleared.

The driver later returned to the scene and was given a provincial offence notice for Insecure load under the Highway Traffic Act.
