Alnwick/Haldimand Township – Driver Possibly Ejected After Vehicle Launched Into Trees

In Local, Photo Gallery

Emergency services were dispatched around 11 p.m. on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 in Alnwick/Haldimand Township after a car was launched into trees possibly ejecting the lone occupant.
The collision happened on County Road 22 east of Centreton just east of Carmel Road.
It appears the vehicle was travelling westbound and while rounding a corner the driver apparently lost control and skidded for at least 150 metres when it partially went into the ditch and the vehicle launched into the air approximately 30 feet before snapping a number of trees.
The vehicle landed upright but was partially off the ground from the trees underneath.
Northumberland OPP found the driver outside of the vehicle and administered medical attention before Northumberland County Paramedics arrived.
Alnwick/Haldimand Township firefighters searched the area to make sure there were no other occupants.
The road was closed for several hours while police investigated. There is no word on the driver’s condition.
