Video – Photo Gallery – Piping Down The Sun Tradition Continues in Cobourg

In Local, Photo Gallery

Members of the Cobourg Legion Pipes and Drums are continuing their tradition of piping down the sun at Cobourg Harbour.

Throughout the summer, pipers with the band will be in the area of the Cobourg Harbour on Friday, Saturday and Sunday (weather permitting) just prior to dusk.

Pipe Major Mary Ito was performing on Sunday, July 20, 2025 along the east pier as the sun slowly set.

It’s not uncommon for people visiting the area to spark up conversation with band members and even ask to have their picture taken with band members.

One couple from Alberta spent part of their vacation in Cobourg and enjoyed their last evening listening to the Piping Down The Sun and told Ito they absolutely loved the town.
