Video – OPP Rescue on Lake Ontario

There was a rescue of a different kind on Lake Ontario on Tuesday, July 8, 2025.

At approximately noon on Tuesday, an OPP vessel was patrolling Lake Ontario south of Port Hope when the engine failed.

A call was put in to members of the Canadian Coast Guard in Cobourg who responded.

The Coast Guard quickly responded and safely towed the vessel to Port Hope.

The three occupants, including a Port Hope officer were uninjured and the vessel was taken for repairs.
