Cobourg Mayor Says He was Referring to Police, Not Citizens in Recent Letter

In Local

Editor, Todays Northumberland:

I am asking you to please remove the word Citizen from your caption and headline regarding my recently published letter. My letter was published as Mayor, it makes no reference to Cobourg council or any individual councillors.

I do not support any form of vigilantism and would never want any local law-abiding citizen to engage any potential criminal, at any time. I was referencing in my letter our excellent security services, as in our Police and By-Law Enforcement.

Thank you for this consideration,

Lucas Cleveland
