Township of Hamilton Launches New Municipal Website with Community Guided-Design

In City Hall, Local

The Township of Hamilton is excited to announce the launch of its newly redesigned municipal website, offering a fresh, modern look and improved user experience. The new site is designed to be more accessible, easier to navigate, and better aligned with how the community searches for information online.

The website redesign was guided by two phases of valuable community input. In the first phase, residents were invited to complete a survey about their experiences with the previous site and to identify what types of information and services they most often searched for. In the second phase, participants tested sample navigation menus to help the Township better understand how users interact with online content. This input was critical in shaping the structure and functionality of the new site.

“It was clear to us from the beginning of this project that residents wanted a site that was intuitive and easy to navigate,” said Amanda Millar, Deputy Clerk. “The feedback we received directly influenced the structure of the new site and helped us build something that’s designed with our community in mind.”

Visitors to the new site will find a clean layout and simplified menu structure that makes it easier than ever to access services and information. Residents can apply for building and road permits online, report an issue or concern, and explore up-to-date recreation program schedules. The site also provides convenient access to Council meeting agendas and minutes, information on how to pay a bill, and the ability to subscribe to Township news and alerts, helping residents stay informed and connected with just a few clicks.

The launch represents the culmination of a successful migration project and a collaborative effort across all municipal departments. The Township extends sincere thanks to staff for their hard work and teamwork throughout the process, and to residents for the valuable feedback gathered during the development process.

“The launch of this new website represents an important step forward in making local government more accessible, transparent, and responsive to the community,” said Mayor Scott Jibb. “We’re grateful to all the residents who participated and helped shape a better experience for everyone.”

Residents are encouraged to explore the new site and share their feedback as the Township continues to refine and improve its digital services.
