Municipality of Port Hope Announces Special Council Meeting

In City Hall, Local

A Special Council Meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Town Hall, 56 Queen Street, Port Hope.

At this meeting, Council members will participate in a Council workshop session with representatives from Strategy Corp with regard to the development of a 2025-2028 strategic plan for the Municipality of Port Hope.

This initial Council strategic plan workshop is designed to examine findings collected from interviews, workshops, and surveys involving staff, residents, and Councillors. Through collaborative discussion and analysis, the workshop will work towards drafting an initial strategic framework, ensuring that the process is thorough and inclusive.

This Meeting will be held in a Council Workshop format, in accordance with Section 22 of the Procedural By-law. Workshops are intended to provide Members of Council with information, training, or an opportunity for discussion. No decisions are made during Workshops.

The meeting is open to the public and residents are welcome to attend in person, however, there will not be public participation through this Workshop. Due to the informal and interactive nature of Workshops, including movement around the room and limited microphone use, this session will not be livestreamed on the municipal YouTube channel.

The draft strategic plan and accompanying report will be brought forward to a future Committee of the Whole meeting for consideration and will follow regular approval processes. The session is open to the public.

For questions, please email staff in the Legislative Services office.
