Video – Liberal Election Signs Damaged – Again

In Local

Police are investigating after three election signs were damaged in Cobourg.

It’s believe the damage occurred overnight Monday or early Tuesday (March 25, 2025) morning.

The Liberal election signs were damaged between Green Street and D’Arcy Street.

Campaign Manager for John Goheen, Sandy Wiseman said upon discovering the signs they immediately reached out to Cobourg Police who were excellent to deal with and are taking the matter seriously.

“There is no place in the democratic process for this type of wanton vandalism. Signs are a great
cost to every campaign including the time it takes volunteers to install them.  Democracy is based on the fundamental beliefs of fairness and equity. We have the ability to express our displeasure at the place it counts…the ballot box.

We must understand that destroying signs is a criminal act of vandalism. It is far more than
a rejection of one Party or one Candidate over another.”

In February, Liberal signs were also damaged in the same area for the Provincial election.

Wiseman is asking if anyone who has any knowledge regarding who is committing these crimes to please consider giving that information to the Cobourg Police Service at (905) 372-6821.
