Northumberland OPP – Northumberland Man Facing Multiple Charges in Assault Investigation

Members of the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged an individual following an intimate partner violence investigation.

On March 19, 2025, OPP received a complaint regarding a number of incidents believed to have occurred from November 2024 until recently.

Police began an investigation with the assistance of the Northumberland Crime Unit.

On March 20, 2025, with the assistance of the Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU), officers arrested a person at a residence in Northumberland County. A warrant was executed at the address with the assistance of the Canine Unit (K9).

As a result, a 25-year-old, has been charged with:

– Pointing a firearm

– Assault with a weapon – spousal

– Assault – spousal

– Forcible confinement – three counts

– Criminal harassment – threatening conduct

– Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm – spousal – two counts

– Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm – three counts

– Uttering threats – damage property

– Uttering threats – damage or injure animal

– Theft under $5,000

– Possession property obtained by crime under $5,000.

The accused was held for bail to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg.
