Cobourg Police – Cobourg Man Facing Charges of Making Forged Document, Fraud Under $5,000 (No Name Released)

A 46-year-old Cobourg man has been arrested in a fraud investigation.

In July 2024, police opened a fraud investigation after an individual fraudulently cashed a cheque at a local financial institution.

Police identified a suspect, and a warrant was sought for their arrest.

On Monday, February 24, 2025, police on general patrol observed the individual on an outstanding warrant.

As a result of the investigation, the 46-year-old Cobourg man was arrested and charged with Make Forged Document, Use Forged Document, Drawing Document without Authority, Fraud Under $5,000, Possession of Proceeds Obtained by Crime under $5,000 and Fail to Comply with Probation.

The accused was held for a bail hearing.
