Durham Police – Man Shot in Clarington

A 29-year-old male succumbed to his injuries after being shot at his residence north of Hampton this afternoon.
On Monday, September 10, 2018 at approximately 2:30 p.m., officers were called to a residence on Old Scugog Road, north of Hampton in the Municipality of Clarington.
A 29-year-old, with obvious signs of trauma, was rushed to a nearby hospital but could not be revived. Officers flooded the area, but no arrests were made. Two public schools nearby were placed into Hold & Secure for a short period of time.
Both suspects are described as male black.
Homicide investigators do not believe this was a random incident, they will be reviewing evidence at the scene and interviewing witnesses before releasing any further information. A post mortem will be conducted.
This is the 9th homicide in Durham Region in 2018.
