Breaking News – Northumberland OPP – Investigating Sudden Death in Brighton

The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is currently investigating a sudden death in the Municipality of Brighton.

On August 20, 2024, at approximately 8:45 a.m., Emergency Medical Services and members of Northumberland OPP received a call for an unresponsive person in a residence on Chapel Street in the Municipality of Brighton. The patient was declared deceased a short time later.

The Northumberland OPP Crime Unit is continuing the investigation with assistance from OPP Forensic Identification Services (FIS), in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.

The deceased is a 45-year-old from Roseneath and at this time, the death is not considered suspicious.
