Northumberland County OPP are taking on their second annual Walk For The Wounded.

The event takes place on August 17, 2024 and is for active and retired military members along with first responders.

Currently there are 27 participants taking part.

The event will take the participants on a 42-kilometre walk from Hastings to Northumberland OPP Detachment in Cobourg.

Along the way participants will be carrying 22-pounds and each hour will be doing 22 push-ups.

Walk For The Wounded emerged out of a small group of Veterans and Canadian service members wanting to make a change. A change that was done in actions, not words. An event that puts mental health at the forefront, putting 100% of donations straight to the cause.

All funds raised go to Wounded Warriors Canada.
