Robbery Suspect Sought – Update

A 15-year-old female from Wasaga Beach, ON is facing charges in connection with a robbery on Thursday, July 4, 2024.

At approximately 12:50am on July 5, 2024, officers were called to the same business in the McDonnel Street and Aylmer Street area after reports a female had attempted to rob the store before barricading herself in the basement of the building. K9 Gryphon was deployed to search the basement and conducted a bark and hold arrest in which the suspect was taken into custody without incident. Through investigation it was determined that the suspect was the same person described to police from the incident the night before. Officers seized a knife and a backpack containing several items reported stolen on July 4th.

As a result, a 15-year-old Wasaga Beach female was arrested and charged with:

Robbery with Theft
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court August 12, 2024.

Under the Youth Criminal Justice Code, the name of a young person cannot be released.

Indecent Acts Suspect Sought

The Peterborough Police Service has been made aware of an incident at a Peterborough park.

At approximately 9:00pm on July 4, 2024, officers received calls from two concerned residents about a man masturbating in Kawartha Heights Park. Upon arrival, officers learned the man had been seen leaving the park on a bicycle headed toward Kawartha Heights Boulevard. Officers checked the area, but a suspect was not located.

The man was described to police as:

Male, white
Grey hair
50-60yrs
Approx. 6’ tall
Wearing Red t-shirt and grey shorts
Dark square framed glasses
Riding a bicycle

Break and Enter Suspect Sought

The Peterborough Police Service is investigating after a break and enter to a Peterborough business early Friday morning.

At approximately 2:30am on July 5, 2024, officers were called to the business in the Park Street South and Lake Street area. Upon arrival, officers noticed that a rock had been thrown through the front door. K9 Isaac was deployed to clear the building, but no one was located inside.

Two Arrests by Community FIRST Unit

On Thursday, July 4, 2024, a 31-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged in connection with a shoplifting incident reported online on May 26, 2024. Through investigation and information provided in the report, officers with the Community FIRST unit were able to identify the suspect.

As a result of the investigation, a 31-year-old Peterborough man was charged with:

Theft Under $5000
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court August 13, 2024.

 

On Thursday, July 4, 2024, a 36-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested and charged in connection with the theft of two bicycles. The online incident was reported June 21, 2024, followed by a supplementary report several days later. With the information, officers with the Community FIRST unit were able to identify the suspect. The suspect was then spotted about 7:00pm on July 4, 2024, riding one of the bicycles in the area of Sherbrooke Street and George Street. The bicycle was seized to be returned. The second bicycle is still outstanding.

As a result, a 36-year-old Peterborough woman was charged with:

Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 – in Canada
Fail to Comply with Probation Order
The accused is currently bound by a probation order with the following conditions: to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court August 13, 2024.
