Video – Garage Fire Quickly Knocked Down by Hamilton Township Fire Department

There were no serious injuries following a garage fire in Hamilton Township on Saturday, June 8, 2024.

At approximately 8:30 p.m. Hamilton Township Fire Department was dispatched to a fully engulfed garage fire on Community Centre Road just east of County Road 45 in Baltimore.

Fire Chief Mike Robinson said crews could see the smoke as they were leaving the hall and knew they had a working fire.

Alnwick/Haldimand Township was also dispatched to the fire.

When crews arrived on scene, flames were coming from both garage doors.

The garage was attached to the home.

Two dogs that were in the garage were taken to the vets, but are believed to have had minor smoke inhalation.

Two people inside the home were alerted to the fire and were not injured.

Robinson said firefighters made an aggressive attack on the fire making a quick knock down of the garage fire and checked for extension.

Fire damage is confined to the garage, but there was smoke damage to the home.

The cause of the fire is unknown cause, but believe to be started in the garage and is not suspicious.

Damage is estimated at approximately $250,000.
