Northumberland OPP Welcomed At Masters of Disasters Camp

In Community, Editor Choice, Local, Photo Gallery

Officers from Northumberland OPP were welcomed to the Masters of Disasters Camp on Wednesday, August 16, 2018 at the Cobourg Community Centre.
Constable Toni Whelan and Constable Rob Hilton explained about the 9-1-1 system and when to use it, bus safety and many other facets of their profession to the campers who listened intently.
One of the more unique questions to the officers was whether they do anything for people in prison on their birthday?
The reply from the police was that is up to the prison officials and not the police.
After the lessons in class, the campers all were fingerprinted for a poster police had brought, then were taken outside to show what is inside and outside a OPP cruiser.
Campers again were thrilled to see an actual spike belt along with getting into the back seat, and front seat of a police cruiser.
