A 40-year-old Cobourg woman is facing charges after police responded to a theft in progress Saturday afternoon.
On Saturday, May 18, 2024, at approximately 2:00 p.m., police received a report of theft in progress at a business in the area of King Street and Division Street in the Town of Cobourg.
It was reported that an individual entered the store and obtained items, leaving the premises without attempting to pay. Police located the individual in possession of the stolen merchandise, which was returned to the store.
As a result of the investigation, 40-year-old Jillian Nolan of Cobourg was arrested and charged with theft under $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and two counts of failing to comply with probation order.
The accused was held for a bail hearing and subsequently remanded into custody.
