Cobourg Police – Theft and Possession of Property (No Name Released)

A 50-year-old Port Hope woman faces charges after police responded to a theft at a Cobourg business.

On Sunday, January 28, 2024, at approximately 11:00 a.m., police received a report of theft at a business in the area of Elgin Street and Strathy Road.

It was reported that an individual entered the store and obtained items, leaving the premises without attempting to pay. Through investigation, a suspect was identified, and a warrant was obtained for arrest.

On May 18, 2024, the 50-year-old Port Hope woman was arrested and charged with theft under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

She was released with an undertaking and a future court date of June 26, 2024.
