Cobourg/Port Hope Police Polar Plunge 2024 Takes Place Thursday

In Police Blotter, Upcoming Events

The countdown has begun for the 2024 Cobourg/Port Hope Police Polar Plunge in support of special Olympics Ontario.

It’s the second year for the event that is organized by Port Hope Police Constable Tammie Staples and Cobourg Police Constable Josalyn Hilts.

The event starts on Thursday, March 28, 2024, starting at 11:00 a.m. at the Cobourg Marina Parking Lot 103 Third Street in Cobourg.

Staples said she’s looking forward to the event.

“We are freezin for a reason.”

Last year Hilts said it was brutal weather but everyone came out and supported the event raising approximately $32,000 for Special Olympics.

“What better day to come down, jump in freezing cold water and everybody still walks away with a smile on their face,” said Staples.

Approximately 75 people will be taking part in the event.
