If anyone is preparing for the momentous occasion on April 8, 2024 of the total solar eclipse and is looking for proper viewing spectacles Kawartha Vision Care has what you’re looking for.
Located at 9 Elgin Street East, Chelsea Legacy said the glasses are for sale for $5 with proceeds going towards a high school trip next year to France for a student.
“We are in the sweet spot path of totality, so it’s a once in a lifetime event.”
It’s anticipated thousands of people will be visiting Cobourg and area for the event.
The glasses are on the approved list from the Astronomical Association.
“It’s the only way to view the eclipse safely.”
“No one can look directly at the sun,” said Legacy.
“During a eclipse is particularly dangerous because your pupils are dilated fully behind the eclipse glasses. So if you were to glance over, under or take them off and look at the sun, damage can happen very quickly and it’s irreversible.”
“So stay safe and enjoy the eclipse.”
