Video – A Bit Early, But it Looks Like It’s Maple Syrup Season

In Local

The trees are tapped and the buckets are filling in Cramahe Township.

It was perfect weather on Saturday, February 10, 2024 for making maple syrup.

With the buckets filling up, the next stage is boiling the water to make the maple syrup.

And that isn’t a fast process.

It takes 40 litres of maple sap to make one litre of syrup.

And that takes hours and hours.

But at the end, there is nothing like the taste of maple syrup.

Ideal temperatures for making syrup range between -5 Celsius at night and +5 Celsius in the daytime.
