One person has been charged with assault after a dispute over snow shovelling.
On January 13, 2024, at approximately 12:45pm, members of the Peterborough County detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received to a call regarding a dispute between two neighbours. The complainant advised that they had heard snow being thrown against the window of their residence. The complainant went outside to see two people shovelling in a manner that was hitting the house. The complainant and the accused got into a verbal dispute which escalated to the point where one person was assaulted.
Police attended and as a result, one person was arrested.
Jesse PARENT (age 35) of North Kawartha Township, ON., was arrested and charged with:
- Assault
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on February 13, 2024.
