City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service – Possible Suspicious Fire

In Police Blotter

(Note: In the press release by CKLPS they issued a photo to accompany the release.  The photo shows liquid being poured onto a floor by an individual wearing black gloves and grey track pants.  Unfortunately and adding to the confusion, it doesn’t state whether it is a file photo or one from the incident.  If it is a stock photo it should be identified as such to give the reader that knowledge.  If it is from the investigation the same applies)

On Sunday, December 17th, 2023 at approximately 2:00am, the Kawartha Lakes Police Service, along with Kawartha Lakes Fire and Rescue Services responded to a residential fire on Russell Street East in Lindsay.

When officers arrived, the house was fully en-gulfed in flames. No injuries resulted from this incident.

The Kawartha Lakes Police Service Criminal Investigation Branch continues to investigate with the assistance of Office of the Ontario Fire Marshal.

Anyone in the area of Russell Street East and Simcoe Street who has video surveillance is asked to review video around 2:00am. Any one with information is asked to contact the Kawartha Lakes Police Service at 705-324-5252 or Crime Stoppers online at khcrimestoppers.com or call 1-800-222-8477.
