Cobourg Firefighters Rescue Cat Stuck in Tree

In Local

It may be a rare call, but on Wednesday evening, June 25, 2026, Cobourg firefighters came to the rescue of a feline in distress.

Firefighters were called to a residence on Blake Street after a cat climbed high into a tree and was unable (or decided otherwise) to get down. A longer ladder was needed to safely reach the animal, prompting a request for assistance from the Cobourg Fire Department.

Crews arrived on scene and, within minutes, were able to safely retrieve the cat and return it to its grateful owner.

The good-natured rescue ended with the cat unharmed, a relieved owner, and another example of firefighters helping out when the community calls.
