Northumberland Hills Hospital (NHH) Foundation is pleased to announce Lemon-Aid for NHH is back. This event invites the young and young-at-heart to host their own lemonade stands to raise funds in support of NHH over the summer season.
Since launching in 2022, the initiative has raised more than $24,000 to support patient care and local healthcare services at NHH.
“What started as a fun community fundraiser has grown into a summer tradition,” says Rhonda Cunningham, NHH Foundation CEO. “We love seeing participants of all ages, as well as local business put their own unique spin on their lemonade stands while supporting our hospital.”
Lemon-Aid is once again sponsored by Davis’ Your Independent Grocer in Port Hope and upon registration, participants will receive kits to help them get their stands started.
There is no age restriction for participating, and the Foundation hopes to see both new and returning hosts get on board again this year.
Locations of stands will be shared throughout the summer on both the Foundation’s website, and social media channels. Funds raised through Lemon-Aid will be used to purchase ‘beanies’ – both ‘beanie’ babies for young patients in the Surgical Services department as well as ‘beanie’ hats for patients of the Lions and Lioness Cancer and Supportive Care Clinic. A collective total will be announced at the end of the summer.
Those interested in hosting a stand can contact Courtney Ker, NHH Foundation Manger, Community Giving at cker@nhh.ca or 905-372-6811 ext. 3068 to sign up and coordinate a kit pick-up.
Visit www.NHHFoundation.ca for more information on how you can register to participate and to find a list of upcoming Lemon-Aid stands to visit throughout the summer.
