The City of Belleville is inviting residents and visitors to celebrate Canada Day at West Zwick’s Park on Wednesday, July 1, with a full day of free family-friendly entertainment, live music, activities, food vendors and fireworks along the waterfront.

Festivities will begin at 11 a.m. and continue throughout the day with returning favourites and activities for all ages, including inflatables, face painting, balloon twisting, the Great Canadian Lumberjacks, a hockey net zone, roaming characters, a magic show, local vendors and community booths.

Live music will take place throughout the day under the Lions’ Pavilion on the Quinte Broadcasting Main Stage, beginning with local performer Andy Forgie at 11 a.m., followed by an opening ceremony at noon.

Additional performances will include local bands Cat Named Earl and The Decades Band, followed by Kingston-based Lake Porter and Kitchener’s Feral Minks later in the evening. Belleville’s Déjà vu Entertainment will keep the celebration going leading up to the fireworks finale.

A variety of food vendors will be available onsite throughout the day, including 2-4-1 Pizza, Burger Revolution, Duffer’s Chip Wagon, Gator’s Fries, Pink Funnel, Squeezy’s Lemonade, Dr. Bucks Sweet Treats, Thairific and several multicultural food vendors.

Fireworks over the Bay of Quinte will begin sometime between 9:30 and 10 p.m., depending on weather and lighting conditions.

Parking will be available onsite for a $5 donation in support of local community groups. Free shuttle service will run continuously between the Quinte Mall, downtown transit terminal and West Zwick’s Park from 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
