Durham Regional Police – Sexual Assault Suspect Arrested with Help from the Public

A male wanted for sexual assault and indecent acts in Pickering has been identified and arrested with the public’s assistance after a DRPS Help Solve a Crime post.

On Thursday, March 26, 2026, a male entered a clothing store inside of The Shops at Pickering City Centre at 1355 Kingston Road in Pickering. While using a changeroom in the store, the male exposed his genitals to customers and staff.

No employees or customers suffered any physical injuries.

On Thursday, April 2, 2026, the suspect returned to the clothing store and sexually assaulted an employee. The suspect fled the area prior to police arrival.

The victim did not suffer any physical injuries.

The suspect was identified with the public’s assistance from a Help Solve a Crime post. On Saturday, April 25, 2026, investigators located the suspect and took him into custody without incident.

Police are concerned there may be other victims and are releasing a photo of the suspect.

Brandon Edsel SEVILLA-ZELAYA, age 29 of No Fixed Address is charged with: Sexual Assault, Indecent Act, Theft Under $5000 x3, and Fail to Comply with Probation x12.

He was held for a bail hearing.
