Belleville Police – Incidents Include Suspect Charged with Indecent Act, Suspect Facing Weapons Charges (Names Released)

Indecent Act
On April 30th at 1:02pm, Belleville Police Service responded to a business on North Front St. regarding a report of a male who had attended the location repeatedly and exposed himself to employees and customers.
As a result of police investigation, officers located, arrested and charged Daniel Sullivan, 39-year-old Belleville man, with:
· Criminal harassment
· Indecent act – public place
· Fail to comply with a probation order

He was released on an Undertaking with a scheduled court date in June.

Weapons
On April 30th at 2:58pm, Belleville Police responded to reports of a male walking alone up Front St. swinging an axe. While officers were en route, a business on North Front St. reported that the same individual had entered the business and slammed the axe onto the counter.
As a result of investigation, officers located, arrested and charged Kenneth Casselman, 48-year-old Belleville man of no fixed address, with:
· Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
· Mischief – interferes with any person in the lawful use of property

He was released on an Undertaking with a scheduled court date in July.

Weapons
On April 29th, Belleville Police investigated a report of a male attending an east end high school who had approached students and threatened them with a knife. The male displayed the handle of a knife, which was concealed inside a backpack.
On April 30th, as a result of investigation, a 16-year-old Belleville male whose identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was arrested and charged with the following offences and held for a bail hearing:
· Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
· Carrying concealed weapon
· Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm
· Assault with a weapon
· Fail toc comply with release order
· Fail to comply with sentence
