The City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) continues to take impaired drivers off our roadways through ongoing enforcement and community-reported concerns.
Impaired driving remains one of the leading causes of death and serious injury on OPP-patrolled highways. Officers across the municipality remain committed to detecting and removing drivers impaired by alcohol, drugs, or a combination of both.
On Sunday, March 29, 2026, at approximately 10:40 p.m., officers responded to a traffic complaint on West Street in Bobcaygeon. Officers attended the area and located the vehicle. Through investigation officers charged a driver with impaired driving offences.
Candice HILL, 31-year-old of Bobcaygeon, was charged with:
– Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
– Careless Driving
– Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor
Hill was given a seven-day vehicle impoundment, a 90-day driver’s licence suspension, and a future court date.
On Saturday, March 28, 2026, at approximately 5:02 p.m., officers responded to a traffic complaint on Colborne Street in Fenelon Falls Officers attended the area and located the vehicle. Through investigation officers charged a driver with impaired driving offences.
Sandra CUBELLO, 63-year-old of Fenelon Township, was charged with:
– Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
– Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
Cubello was given a seven-day vehicle impoundment, a 90-day driver’s licence suspension, and a future court date.
