Brighton’s Applefest Wins a 2026 Top 100 Award by Festival and Events Ontario

In Local

Brighton’s Applefest has once again been recognized by Festival and Events Ontario (FEO) as one of the Top 100 festivals in the province.

The Top 100 Awards celebrate festivals and events that demonstrate excellence in programming, community impact, and overall experience. Applefest was evaluated in Fall 2025 through a formal submission and reviewed by an independent panel of judges.

“Applefest being named a 2026 Top 100 Festival or Event by Festivals & Events Ontario is a tremendous honour for our community.” said Mayor Brian Ostrander. “Applefest reflects the heart of Brighton, our volunteers, businesses, growers, and residents who come together to create something truly special. This recognition belongs to everyone who works so hard to make Applefest a success year after year.”

The Applefest Advisory Committee, together with dedicated community partners, hosts a diverse range of activities throughout the four day celebration. Highlights include the Main Street Fair, Music in the Park at Memorial Park, a Children’s Village, and a vintage car show. What began in 1974 as a gathering of local farmers showcasing their harvest has grown into a cherished community tradition, drawing thousands of visitors from across Ontario each year.

“I am absolutely thrilled to hear that Brighton Applefest has once again been selected as one of the Top 100 Festivals in Ontario.” said Laura Knegt, Applefest Advisory Committee Chair. “This recognition is a wonderful achievement and a true testament to the dedication and hard work put in by the Applefest Committee and Brighton Municipal staff. Congratulations to everyone involved in making the event such a consistent success. I look forward to seeing Brighton Applefest continue to thrive.”

Applefest returns this year from Thursday, September 24 to Sunday, September 27, with events taking place throughout Brighton.
