Woman Succumbs to Her Injuries Following House Fire in Belleville

On February 12th, at approximately 5:30 AM, Belleville Police responded to a house fire in the area of Queen Street and William Street. Belleville Fire and Hastings-Quinte Paramedics were on scene with firefighters working to control the fire. Upon arrival, it was reported that individuals might still be inside the residence.

One person was removed by firefighters from the home while two others escaped on their own. Two females, both 72 years old, were transported to the hospital. The first female sustained serious injuries.

The second female sustained critical injuries and has since succumbed to her injuries. The third individual was uninjured.

Belleville Police are assisting the Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office with the investigation into the cause of the fire.
