Update – Clean-Up Continues After Multi-Vehicle Collision East of Trenton

Emergency services are still at the scene following a multi-vehicle collision on Highway 401 east of Trenton on Tuesday, January 27, 2026.

At approximately 8:30 a.m. numerous collisions were reported on Highway 401 east of Trenton.

Two transports were engulfed in flames.  Several people have been taken to hospital, but at this time there are no reports of serious injuries.

At approximately 2 p.m. fire crews were still working on extinguishing the fire due to the contents.

The eastbound lanes of Highway 401, east of Trenton remain closed.
