City of Kawartha Lakes OPP – Fatal Collision Involving Pedestrain

The City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a fatal collision involving a pickup truck and a pedestrian in the City of Kawartha Lakes.

On Friday, January 9, 2026, at approximately 10:00 p.m., City of Kawartha Lakes OPP officers were notified of a collision on Highway 7 in The City of Kawartha Lakes.

A 27-year-old male from the City of Kawartha Lakes was pronounced deceased at the scene. No other injuries were reported.

Highway 7 was closed between Taylors Rd. and Opmar Rd. for the investigation, but it has since reopened.

The investigation is ongoing , although no foul play is suspected.
