Video – Photo Gallery – Windy Day Along the Lakeshore in Cobourg and Port Hope

In Local, Police Blotter, Weather

Another windy day along the lakeshore in Northumberland County on Monday, December 29, 2025.

With gusts up to 88 kph along the lakeshore the waves were whipping up and pounding against the piers in both Cobourg and Port Hope.

Along the Ganaraska River in Port Hope a lone angler seemed to have the river to himself for the day.

But with the high water from yesterdays rain, the river was flowing at a good pace.

A ice jam formed north of Robertson Street bridge, but it’s nothing uncommon for the Ganaraska River.

In Cobourg a placard from Home Depot was spotted high up in a tree that borders Northumberland Hills Hospital.

Walton Street in the area of Queen Street and Mill Street is still closed resulting from a water main break yesterday. Crews repaired the water main break, but repairs need to be carried out on the bridge.

There is no precipitation tomorrow, but it will be a cold day with the temperature ranging feeling like -23 to -14 with wind gusts up to 66 kph making it feel colder than the actual temperature.
