Northumberland OPP – Stockings Filled for Senior Citizens in Trent Hills

In Community, Local, Police Blotter

The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in conjunction with Northumberland/Peterborough Crime Stoppers, initiated for a second consecutive year the “Trent Hills Stockings for Seniors”. A mission to bring a little holiday cheer to those senior citizens living in retirement residences, nursing homes or living alone independently within the Municipality of Trent Hills.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the many local businesses that displayed the printed posters, to Stedman’s V&S in Campbellford for offering their establishment to be a collection sit e, the elementary grade students who created amazing cards, and all those community members who generously donated items that help fill over 100 stockings and gift bags.

On Friday December 19, 2025, the Northumberland OPP had the honor of delivering the filled stockings to our seniors at their respective residences.

Together we uplifted the spirits of some of our most vulnerable community members. It was a tangible token that reminded them they are still an important part of society, cared for by members of their community and were not forgotten during this holiday season.
