Northumberland OPP – Trenton Man Charged with Intimate Partner Violence

The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid several charges against an individual following an investigation into intimate partner violence.

In late November 2025, officers received a report regarding multiple domestic incidents that occurred at two locations in Northumberland during September and October of this year.

As a result of the investigation, a suspect was taken into custody on December 18, 2025.

A 28-year-old male, from Trenton, has been charged with:

– Assault with a weapon – spousal – two counts

– Assault – spousal

– Mischief – renders property dangerous, useless, inoperative or ineffective

– Mischief – destroys or damages property – four counts

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Cour t of Justice in Cobourg in February 2026.

They shall not be named to protect the identity of the victim.
