Video – Sign of the Times in Downtown Cobourg

In Local, Police Blotter

Today’s Northumberland was sent a video showing a number of people congregated in the Bank of Nova Scotia foyer apparently consuming illegal narcotics.

The person that sent the video asked not to have their name used but stated it was around 9 p.m. on Tuesday, December 9, 2025.

Approximately seven people were inside the Bank of Nova Scotia where the atm’s are located at King Street West and George Street.

One person is wearing a toque and what appears to be undersear, while others seemed to be dressed for the weather.

A number of people are using lighters on tinfoil.

The person that took the video said they called police who arrived approximately 15-minutes later, but did not get out of their vehicle.

The reason the person videoed the people inside is because he saw an elderly woman attempt to go inside, “but ended up leaving because of all of them in there.”

Today’s Northumberland has reached out to Cobourg Police Chief Paul VandeGraaf, Chair of the Police Services Board Adam Bureau and Mayor Lucas Cleveland for comment. We will update if any respond.
