For the first time in the history of the CPKC Holiday Train it stopped in Cobourg on Saturday, November 29, 2025.

Shortly after noon, the westbound train made its way passed the D’Arcy Street crossing and stopped behind the Columbus Community Centre.

Approximately 2,000 people lined the fenceline waiting for the train with the engine flying both the Canadian and American flag.

The 2025 CPKC Holiday Train is touring both Canada and the United States from November 19 through December 21, raising money, food and awareness to support food banks.

Performers in Cobourg were Teigen Gayse and Jake Eagleson.

CPKC donated $5,000 to the Northumberland Fare Share Food Bank on their stop.

Along with that, monetary and food donations were gratefully accepted for the Food Bank.

Since its inaugural journey in 1999, the CPKC Holiday Train has raised more than $26 million and collected approximately 5.4 million pounds of food for community food banks in Canada and the U.S.
