Belleville Police – Pedestrian Struck by Train — Rail Crossings Temporarily Blocked

At approximately 5:40 p.m. on November 16, 2025, Belleville Police Service responded to an incident involving a pedestrian who was struck by a train.

Officers remain on scene and the investigation is ongoing.

As a result of the incident, the train is currently blocking several railway crossings, affecting the area from Herchimer Avenue to South Front Street. CP Rail has advised that they are working to have the train moved as soon as possible; however, motorists and pedestrians should expect delays in the interim.

The Belleville Police Service is asking the public to avoid the affected crossings and use alternate routes until the scene has been cleared.

No further details will be released at this time.
