Durham Region Police – Police Seeking Information After Deceased Dog Found in Suitcase

Police are appealing for witnesses after a deceased dog was located in a suitcase in Oshawa.

On Friday, November 7, 2025, at approximately 9:30 p.m., members of Central East Division responded to an animal abuse call in the area of Gibb Street and Grenfell Street. A passerby called the police after locating a small deceased dog in a suitcase near the green space.

Further investigation revealed a suspicious male was seen in the area at approximately 3:00 -3:30 p.m. carrying a suitcase. Police are looking to identify and speak with this male and are appealing to the public for information.

The suspect is described as male, White with a goatee and beard. He was wearing a bright orange construction style hat and jacket (with yellow reflective stripe) and jeans. He was carrying a grey suitcase and black metal trolley.
