In collaboration with Warner Bros. Discovery, Ontario Creates, Port Hope Tourism, and Crave, the home of HBO in Canada, the Municipality of Port Hope is proud to share that the official Canadian premiere of the highly anticipated HBO Original series IT:
Welcome to Derry will take place at the historic Capitol Theatre – one of the franchise’s iconic filming locations – on Wednesday, October 29, 2025.
The event will unfold in two parts:
• Industry Premiere – private (5:00 p.m., red carpet beginning at 4:00 p.m.) – An exclusive, invitation-only event will bring together the creative team behind the series, including producer Andy Muschietti, as well as local crew members, businesses, and residents who contributed to the production.
• Public Screening (9:00 p.m.) – The community has been invited to attend a free public screening of IT: Welcome to Derry – tickets must be reserved in advance through the Capitol Theatre.

Set in the world of Stephen King’s “IT” universe, IT: WELCOME TO DERRY is based on King’s “IT” novel and expands the vision established by filmmaker Andy Muschietti in the feature films “IT” and “IT Chapter Two.” Produced by HBO and Warner Bros.
Television, developed for television by Andy Muschietti, Barbara Muschietti, and Jason Fuchs, IT: WELCOME TO DERRY is based on the novel “It” by Stephen King.
