Video – Trials and Tribulations of Fishing Along the Ganaraska River in Port Hope

Fishing has once again opened up along the Ganaraska River in Port Hope.

On Saturday, October 18, 2025 a number of anglers nestled along the shore or in the river enjoying the day.

Anglers came from as far as Quebec with their destination being the Ganaraska River.

Primarily there are mainly salmon in the river, but there are also a number of rainbow trout.

A number of anglers were successful in their quest, while others spent there time retrieving their line from nearby branches.

Ministry of Conservation Officers were also patrolling the river monitoring were people were fishing and checking for proper fishing licenses.
