Cameco’s Fund for Mental Health Opens 2025 Application Period

In Local

For the seventh consecutive year, Cameco is offering local charities, community groups and organizations the opportunity to apply for funding through the Cameco Fund for Mental Health.

There is $49,000 available to support mental health initiatives in the Northumberland County area.

The application period for the fund opens on October 1, 2025.

In June, Cameco held its 14th annual Cameco Charity Golf Tournament, raising over $34,000 with a sold-out tournament at Dalewood Golf and Country Club.

This important annual event, along with donations and employee events, brings the total funding available to $49,000.

“Investing in mental health helps build healthier, stronger communities,” said Andy Thorne, vice-president of Cameco’s Fuel Services Division and Operational Excellence. “We’re grateful to our community partners for not only joining us to help raise these important funds, but also for keeping the conversation going. Together, our work will make a positive difference for those who need it.”

With the 2025 total of $49,000, the Cameco Fund for Mental Health has raised more than $450,000 since it launched in 2019.

To date, 56 local organizations have received funding to advance mental health programs and initiatives in the community.

The Cameco Fund for Mental Health is managed through the Saskatoon Community Foundation.

Applications will be reviewed by a panel of local mental health professionals and representatives from
Cameco. The grant application is open to registered charities, non-profits, and organized groups. The
deadline for online applications is 5 p.m. on October 31, 2025.

All funds will be distributed to organizations undertaking projects that promote or protect mental health in the Northumberland County area.
