New trunk sanitary sewer installation continues

The Town of Cobourg would like to inform residents that as part of the Cobourg East Community Trunk Servicing project, which is funded through the Province’s Housing Enabling Water System Fund, new trunk sanitary sewer has been installed along Willmott Street.

The sewer installation started at Thompson Street and is now approaching King Street East.

The sewer will be installed across King Street East in two stages with King Street reduced to a single lane controlled by temporary traffic signals. A temporary traffic signal will also be installed on Willmott Street and right-turns from Willmott Street to King Street East will be restricted for trucks and large vehicles.

Lane closures on King Street East and restrictions on Willmott Street are planned to start on October 1, 2025, and are expected to continue for approximately three weeks.

The Town of Cobourg thanks residents and guests for their patience and understanding as this work is completed.
