The City of Belleville is pleased to introduce a new Development Tracker. This user-friendly application allows users to view current residential development projects throughout the city and their status.

The Development Tracker includes several innovative features to track housing progress, explore new subdivisions and view all active development applications (e.g. rezonings, minor variances, site plans, etc.), including:

· Subdivision Tracker – An interactive map detailing the approval and construction status of subdivisions. The tracker includes a custom list widget that dynamically displays subdivision and phase-level data, such as total building capacity by housing type and the amount of remaining vacant land.

· Housing Construction – An interactive map that tracks building permits and housing growth targets dating back to 2021. Connected directly to the City’s permitting system, it allows real-time analysis of building activity. Custom filters let users explore data by status and year, offering insights into progress toward the Housing Accelerator Fund and Build Faster Fund targets. Data is updated regularly to ensure accuracy and reliability.

· Development Applications – An existing interactive map that tracks current development proposals has now been integrated into the centralized Development Tracker. This tool allows residents and staff to filter, query and view active applications.

· Residential Land Supply – Reporting on land use demand, supply, development and infrastructure.

The new Development Tracker can be found online at: https://portal.belleville.ca/gis/DevelopmentTracker/

Earlier this year, the City received $10.5 million through the second round of the federal Housing Accelerator Fund. As part of the application for this funding, an action plan that outlined eight housing initiatives was created. The Development Tracker is a part of initiative 7, which focuses on streamlining and enhancing the development approval process for missing middle and affordable housing.
